Bye, bye long summer nights and welcome cold weather and long hairs up our noses, in our mouths and eyes, and all over the floor. Shedding season is officially upon us. The hair that is shedding out during the late summer months is very normal and once it’s gone it’s time the horse’s winter coat comes in. Around this time, when the days grow shorter, the horse’s body knows it’s time to start preparing for the winter months and begins to shed out the “summer coat” in preparation for the winter coat. You probably would love to hurry the shedding process along, for your horse's comfort and your own. Luckily, with all the handy currying and clipping equipment available today you don’t have to worry you will turn into a woolly teddy bear yourself while grooming your horse.
